Schock Meets with Local Officials to Discuss Flood Fighting Efforts
On Sunday, April 21st, Congressman Schock toured Beardstown, Meredosia, Sny Island Levee District in Pike County, and Quincy to visit areas that are currently experiencing high water levels, with the anticipation of flooding in the days ahead. Record high river levels are expected to occur within the coming week in some areas. Schock has been on the ground holding meetings with local officials to discuss expectations and their flood fighting efforts. Click here for more information.

Schock Receives NAM Legislative Award for Support of Manufacturing

April 19th: Congressman Schock was today recognized by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) with their Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence for his support of policies critical to the success of manufacturing in Illinois and across the United States.

Aaron Announces Winner of 32nd Annual Congressional Art Show and Competition
On Saturday, April 13th, Congressman Schock held the annual District 18 Congress Art Show and Competition. Aaron is pleased to announce the winner of the 2013 Congressional Arts Competition: Kimberlee Parker, Havana High School. Kimberlee’s art work will hang for one year beside works of art from other Congressional districts in the passageway between the House of Representatives office buildings and the United States Capitol. Schock Announces New Jacksonville District Office Location
Beginning Monday, April 8th, the 18th Congressional District office will be located at 201 W. Morgan in Jacksonville. The new office will be located directly on the square in Jacksonville, becoming part of the vibrant revitalization of downtown. Click here to learn more.

Peorian Honored with Top Victim Rights Award
On Monday, Congressman Schock announced that Peoria victim rights advocate Martha Herm was selected as a 2013 recipient of the Ed Stout Memorial Award for Outstanding Victim Advocacy. Herm serves as the executive director at The Center for Prevention of Abuse in Peoria, IL. Herm is one of two recipients to win this award nationwide and she is one of only six to be recognized nationally for an award by the Victims’ Rights Caucus this year. Click here to learn more.

Schock Visits the Asmark Center in Bloomington

Aaron touring the Asmark Center in Bloomington last Friday, January 11th. The Asmark Center is the first of its kind in the country. They provide training for those in the Ag industry for grain and fertilizer safety. Pictured with Rep. On Friday, January 11th, Aaron toured the Behr Iron and Metal Recyling plan in Peoria. Behr Iron & Metal (Behr) operates solely in the metal recycling industry. Behr buys, processes and sells scrap metals sourced from industry, obsolete materials, plant tear-downs, construction and other sources. Click here to read more.

On Thursday evening, January 10th, Aaron was on the set of Peoria's WEEK-TV to participate in their "Live at 5" news program. The five minute interviews ranged in topics about Aaron's work in Congress including the recently named Vice Presidential Task Force to review control measures and Aaron's vote to keep permanent the tax cuts for 99 percent of Americans families. Congressman Schock on Thursday, January 10th,  paid a visit to his high school alma mater, Richwoods H.S. While on the campus he visited with Stephen Johnson a recent District 18 nominee for the United States Naval Academy and Aaron spoked to the high school government class about his work in the House of Representatives.
