Schock Host Annual Summer Reading Program Celebration
Congressman Schock was in East Peoria, Il., on Sunday, October 27, to host the annual 18th District Summer Reading Program Celebration event. This year, the students have the chance to dress as their favorite character from a book they read over the summer. The program reached 34,340 students in Central Illinois with 65 schools and 16 libraries inside the 18th Congressional district participating.
On Monday, Congressman Aaron Schock presented Benny Percy, retired United States Air Force, with four medals in recognition of his military service. The ceremony took take place at Congressman Schock’s Congressional district office in Peoria. Mr. Percy will be receiving these medals for his exemplary service while in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Percy will be presented with the medals more than three decades after his discharge because of the highly classified nature of his acts of merit.
Schock Discusses House Passed Water Resources Legislation at Peoria Lock and Dam
Congressman Schock was joined by a dozen business, labor and community leaders Thursday to discuss the recently passed Water Resources Reform and Development Act that passed the House earlier this week. The legislation cuts federal red tape and bureaucracy, streamlines the project delivery process, promotes fiscal responsibility, and strengthens the nation’s water transportation networks to promote competitiveness, prosperity, and economic growth.
