Schock Announces District Wide Agriculture Summit to be Held in August
Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee will Attend
Jul 18, 2012 -
Congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL) announced today that he will be hosting an Agricultural Summit this August. Schock will be hosting the Ag Summit on August 7th, 2012 at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois. Joining Schock will be the Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, Congressman Frank Lucas of Oklahoma.
“Agriculture is the number one employer in the 18th district. The Ag community is also one of the most dynamic and adaptable industries in our country; meaning farmers have to deal with everything from drought conditions to flooding. On top of that, they are asked to navigate the endless amounts of red tape and regulations that Washington bureaucrats continue to hand down. The Ag Summit will bring everyone together and discuss the top concerns and issues they face, so that we can solve them together,” said Congressman Aaron Schock. “It’s a great privilege that House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas will be attending the summit. His insight will provide an expertise that I know will be greatly beneficial to the Ag community in Illinois.”
Agriculture Summit Background and Details
The Summit is open to the public. The Ag expo will be an opportunity for agriculture-affiliated organizations and businesses to have booths to discuss agriculture related issues with participants. The program will include remarks by Congressman Schock and Chairman Lucas. More details will continue to be released as the date of the Ag summit approaches.
