Dear Friends,
Memorial Day is a humbling time in which we come together to recognize all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Its also a time to remember the thousands of veterans who live and work among us, and all of those currently serving in the Armed Forces On Memorial Day, I am often reminded of a quote by George Washington, "The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, is directly proportional to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated." This is remarkable statement by our first president which offers a reminder of the highest standards that we must always continue to uphold. To all those who have worn our nation's flag on their uniform, this day and the American flag has a special and personal meaning. For all of us who are proud to live under these colors, it's days like Memorial Day that remind us how lucky we are to be Americans. This weekend I hope you will take a little time to pause and reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day and the tremendous sacrifices that have been made on our behalf. We are a uniquely fortunate country to be blessed by the courageous sacrifices of our fellow Americans who defend our freedom every day. Respectfully,
